FAQ

Why do a bridal trial?

A bridal trial will give us the opportunity to discuss the exact look you have in mind as well as tweak and perfect your final look before your wedding. It will give you the peace of mind for the day of and let you relax and enjoy your day to the fullest. It is also the perfect opportunity for us to get to know each other and vibe before your big day. This trial would be perfect to plan on the day of your engagement photos, bridal showers, bachelorette party, or any other special night out. Inspiration pictures are always welcome! Lashes are included.

Do you provide on-site services?

Yes! All wedding day services are done on-site wherever you and your group are getting ready. A travel fee applies for any location outside of Rockford, IL.

Do you do destination weddings?

Absolutely! A destination wedding is anything outside the Northern Illinois/Southern Wisconsin area. Additional fees relating to flights, transportation, lodging, and per diems will apply.

How do I reserve my wedding date?

A signed contract and non-refundable retainer are required in order to reserve your date. This retainer will be put towards your final balance. Without these, I cannot reserve your date.

How far in advance should I book?

As soon as possible! 2022 is looking to be one of the busiest wedding seasons ever. And I am already booking for 2023. I recommend getting your wedding vendors booked as soon as you figure out your date. If I am unavailable for your wedding date, I can offer to hire another artist from my associate team for your wedding day.

When is my final payment due?

The remainder of your payment is due one week prior to service. Amendments to services may be changed or removed within one month of the event date. No changes can be made after this date.

Do you provide services for larger bridal parties?

Yes, I can accommodate any size bridal party. I have a team of professional, talented makeup artists that I hire out to help with larger bridal parties.

Do you charge a fee for an additional artist?

Additional artists may be necessary for larger groups with time constraints. If an additional artist is required for your date, an additional fee of $50 per artist will be charged. This fee will be added to the retainer due at signing.

Do you offer touchups?

Touchups for makeup on the event day are complimentary during the originally contracted time period. If you’d like me or another artist to stay longer for touchups, an hourly rate will apply.

Retainer Fees

All retainer fees are non-refundable. In the case of rescheduling your event, there will be no additional retainer fee required and your previous retainer fee will apply to your new date. If I am unavailable for your new date, your original retainer fee is non-refundable.

Covid-19 Policies

By signing the agreement, the client understands that the retainer fee secures your project date, and is both non-refundable and non-transferable. The client understands that once they pay the retainer and sign the contract, Erica Mercado will be turning away other paid projects inquiring about this already taken date. That being said, if the event is cancelled due to COVID-19, the client will be exempt from paying any remaining balances, but understand that the retainer fee will not be paid back or transferred to a new date, in order to protect Erica Mercado from missing out on paid projects that wouldn't have otherwise cancelled.

Let’s talk ENERGY!

The energy that your glam team brings to your bridal/hotel suite is so important. These are the first vendors you will see on your big day and will set the tone for the rest of day. A makeup artist’s personality and demeanor is just as important as their style when it comes to picking the right artist for you. There is someone for everyone.

What type of energy will you get from me? I like to bring a calming and relaxed vibe into a bridal suite. You will get authenticity, sincerity, and kindness from me. And each of my assisting artists has that same level of professionalism.

Things to know before your appointment

All clients and artists will be required to wear a mask whenever possible. We take the comfort and safety of everyone very seriously. If you have been ill or around someone who has been ill, you must wait 14 days to schedule your appointment. On location, please make sure that all surfaces and working areas are clean and sanitized. Also, please allow for proper social distancing protocols to be met. Everyone is required to wash or sanitize hands prior to services. Strict sanitation and disinfecting procedures will be taken and all makeup and surfaces will be cleaned before services and in between clients. If you or anyone in your bridal party are showing any symptoms of illness, we have the right to refuse all scheduled services for the day. If you are hosting your wedding on private property that is excluded from government restrictions, we still have the right to refuse services if we feel our health is at risk. Thank you so much for your kindness and understanding during this difficult time in history!

What time should we start makeup on the day of my event?

Your photographer will determine the end time for makeup. Your makeup artist will determine your start time. Things to consider that will affect your schedule: What time do you need to be dressed and ready to go? Will you be doing getting ready photos with your bridal party? And make sure to schedule time to eat as well.
